Our Earth in Our Hands

    Do you still remember about earthquake in Japan, tsunami in Aceh, tornado in US? We already know that there are many disasters in the world. In addition, we know that disaster doesn’t come naturally because everything there must be reasons and one of the answers to it all is global warming. In here I would like to inform what the causes and how to solve that problem.
 
    Global warming is not only about “rising average temperature of Earth's atmosphere and oceans” (Wikipedia, 2011) but only there are some impacts which have relation with human activities. Human is part of living things that never stop to make innovation and creating something new. That is become problem because sometime they do everything to get what they want although it’s not right. For example is activity of human to fulfill their needs especially in terms of properties such as the need for wood. Some of them who are not responsible do illegal logging, this means that they are damaging environment because they are disturb ecosystem of forest that actually forest is the place for produce oxygen order to prevent the global warming.
 
    Another activity of human is driving. Some of them want to move fromone place to another place quickly so that they need vehicle such as car or motorcycle. The problem is when many people have personal vehicle or vehicles that are not environmentally. That where it is causing excessive exhaust gas resulting greenhouse effect and the impact on ozone destruction and global warming. Not only the vehicles that emit exhaust gas but only electronic things such as refrigenerator, air conditioning, even hairspray and aerosol sprays also contain CFCs that have an impact on global warming. 
 
    Another cause of global warming is farm animals especially cow. Believe it or not, exhaust gas that produced by cows is significant factor contributing to global warming. Ironically, not all the people believe about this and think of it is a joke. Recently many people, who campaigned for not eating meat, especially beef because as more and more people eating meat, the more farm animals are needed.
 
    Based on what has been described above, it can be concluded that the causes of global warming include illegal logging, exhaust gas, and methane gas produced by farm animals especially cows. Some of us may already know about this problem, but in here I just want to remind again that we are human being and human being who plays a lot in this regards. By reducing the use vehicles especially personal vehicles, saving electricity usage, reducing air conditioning usage, and reducing the consumption of meat it means that we also preserve earth and salvation of ourselves though human needs cannot be stopped and infinite.
